Obesity or being overweight is a growing and common predicament in every hemisphere. According to World Health Organization or (WHO), there are about 1.6 billion adults aged 15 and up who are overweight; obesity strikes at least 400 million adults. The same institution predicts that in 2005, this number would almost increase by nearly 50%. You can go ahead and compute it in your mind like when you ask yourself last night how do i average in excel. Within your community, the number might just be as glaring. The fundamental principle why the body accumulates fats is the energy imbalance. This imbalance occurs between the number of calories consumed and calories used up. The more alarming information states that even in low and middle income countries, obesity and being overweight have risen sporadically. Health implications and negative effects that are associated with weight gain and overeating are cardiovascular diseases like heart disease and stroke, diabetes, osteoarthritis and some cancers. As people have been more informed and aware of these odd aftermaths of lack of discipline, probably a problem within the internal metabolic process of the body system, hereditary misfortune, inadequate physical activity and other cultural habits, diet programs, pills and diet supplements have sprouted like mushrooms from everywhere. This is not an easy problem that can be solved like how do i alphabetize in excel or how do you change the words to bolder letterings in MS word. There are cure, but you have to recognize the problem first. One of the most popular medications prescribed for weight loss in the United States are the appetite suppressants. This product chiefly affects the eating behavior of a person. It acts to curb hunger, keep down appetite and promote satiety through chemical production within the brain. As one takes in this pill or tablet, the feeling of fullness is realized and entices one to stop from eating.

Looking to learn a language in the most effective way? Here are some tips:

Write it on paper

Writing helps you remember better. Find a language exchange partner on the Internet and write him or her letters in his language. Create a blog and start writing in your target language!Practice the language in all possible situations

Why wait to be in front of a native language to practice? During your wanderings daily, ask yourself the question: “What could I say in my target language in this situation?” ”How will I welcome this person into my language?” “How do you thank that person?” It’s just a habit that you need to develop, but you can practice your language continuously this way.

Writing by copying

Find an author whose style you like. Read the book aloud, sentence by sentence. Then copy each of his sentences, making a conscious effort to analyze the structure of sentences. Do not copy it unconsciously without really thinking, because you will derive no benefit.

No two languages simultaneously

Focus on one language, then go to another language when your level in the first language allows. If you take the risk to study two languages at the same time, especially if they are of the same family (Italian and French, for instance), you may confuse the words and never reach a respectable level in both languages. It is better to concentrate your efforts on one language and to move on to the other language once you’ve reached a good level.

Try these steps and you’ll learn how to learn a language in no time.

Spanish, a language recognized as official in over twenty countries around the globe, is spoken by nearly four hundred million people. Long ago, the language was born in the country of Spain, but spread worldwide as explorers discovered new lands. It is spoken most notably in nearly all of the countries in South America. Where Spanish is not spoken there, Portuguese is. The languages are similar, making it possible for those with knowledge of Spanish to understand the Portuguese written word, such as on signs or menus, as well as some conversation. Spanish is an important language to know in today’s marketplace because the countries who speak it have growing economies. The best way to learn Spanish is to be surrounded by the language on a daily basis.

Spain is a natural and popular choice as a location to study Spanish. While there are many dialects throughout the world, some consider Spain’s Spanish to be the purest. Students profit not only on the intellectual stimulation of learning a language in a country where it is spoken, but also cultural experiences as well.

By taking spanish courses in barcelona, for example, you wouldn’t be able to miss the colorful works of the great artist and sculptor Antoni Gaudi. You would easily pick up on the influence of the Catalan language and culture so prevalent here, too. To soak up the culture in Granada, take a class on flamenco dancing. You might even visit the castle called Alhambra while taking your spanish courses in granada as well. Alternatively, any artist would revel in taking spanish courses in malaga, the birthplace of Picasso. Studying in this city, you’ll get a feel for the Roman and Arabic influences, too.

It’s obvious that studying Spanish in the language’s home country has many benefits. Just living among people who, oftentimes, speak only their mother tongue will help you learn more quickly. In addition, you’ll be able to experience the lifestyle and beauty of the culture. The hardest part will be choosing in which city to study! You could get a taste of different regions by trying out more than one.

As a very busy person, working on hours on end as a manager, I always spend most of my time at the phone, meetings in the conference room and paper works to be signed on time. Communication is vital for my career and I wont let anything stop me for reaching a certain goal and that is to do everything that I can to the fullest. That is why I have a Blackberry. This very versatile phone helps me communicate with our costumers abroad anytime and anywhere. It is very easy to use, with a click to a button everything that I need to know is already showcased on its screen. The Blackberry has a feature that lets you have a password so that if someone else got a hold of it, your personal calls and contact numbers will stay intact and private. Everything else about the Blackberry for me is great but there was a little problem that I encountered with it, i forgot my blackberry username. I really needed to use it at that time and I accidentally forgot my user name. I did not know what to do, I called the support center for Blackberry but there was nothing that they could do about it. They advised me to take my phone to the nearest Blackberry support center. Unfortunately, I was too busy that day. I seldom log out to my Blackberry email, that is why i forgot my username for my blackberry. I did not have any choice but to take my Blackberry to the store and have it in reset and set a new user name and password. So, all in all, I didn’t realize the importance of the user name and password that I put on my phone and email addresses until that happened. This time I will make sure to write my user name and password on my diary so that I will never forget it.

I think someone needs to look at creating a huge online database of various manuals and guides for various games and gadgets. I had the idea after i started buying cheap games in shops that didn’t include manuals. This wasn’t a major problem but a few did puzzle me and a manual would have been nice. I tried various online searches such as instruction manual for ds games but nothing really was ever found. Now as i say this isn’t a major issue because most games have built in help but some don’t. I have come across this problem before when i inherited from my mother her sewing machine but had absolutely no idea what to do with it! try searching online for instruction manual for brother sewing machine and see what comes up, not a lot!. That’s a small point though and i never do any sewing so its not really important but may be if i ever wanted to sell it one day perhaps. I’m not anyone will ever adopt this idea but i know some companies are great at this and you can get manuals from various manufactures sites but not all. I suppose if someone did this they could then charge for the manual like a few pounds or something and i think in a lot of cases people would pay for it because if you are looking online for a manual then you must be pretty desperate! Maybe this is something i should look at doing myself, shame i don’t have the business knowledge or know-how to put something like this in place! Maybe on day all companies will do what some do now, i know some stuff you buy now doesn’t even come with a manual just a virtual copy on a cd, i prefer to have something physical though i can put in a draw somewhere for when i need it.

Canada is not only a beautiful country, it is as diverse as visiting several countries at once. The seasons actually change here and it is breathtakingly beautiful to behold. Quebec is known for its French speaking community, but for those that want to learn English, there are English courses in Canada where one can pick up the language while enjoying the Canadian culture. Though not without crime, Canada as a whole is known for its low crime areas and the people are said t be some of the nicest one can encounter. Vancouver and Toronto have much to offer on their own culturally and even those that live in Canada may find sharpening their English language skills comes with benefits.

Though Canada is the second largest country internationally, its population is quite small with just a portion of the population that its southern neighbor houses. Toronto is the largest city in Canada and located in Ontario, is a Mecca for those looking to enjoy city life, fine food, vast public transit and lively entertainment. Here is where the famous international film festival is carried out each September.  Because there are many others that have traveled to Toronto and live there as non-natives, it would not be unusual to join the masses. This is what makes taking English courses in Toronto so perfect.

Vancouver also offers English language classes. The city is located in British Columbia and offers an ethnically diverse people. If Toronto is not preferred, maybe English courses in Vancouver may be a better alternative. Unlike other areas of Canada, the climate in Vancouver is temperate. Summer weather tends toward the mild. The winters are milder than most and snow is replaced more so by rain. It is the perfect place for a good book and cocoa when winter hits and nature walks in summer.

Expanding understanding is an excellent reason for learning English. The language is spoken in no small part by residents of many other countries, whether officially or not. There are some countries that pay dearly for bi-lingual workers. Bi-lingual workers average a higher pay point than their fellow workers. For those that enjoy making friends, having the advantage of understanding more than one language only adds to that. With social media being what it is, there are plenty of people online that use English as their main means of communication. Traveling the world as an English speaker means being able to fully enjoy all that is offered.

Just gave a presentation in class the other day. I think it went well. It wasn’t particularly fancy, just a PowerPoint presentation. But what I did was try to make it as professional looking as possible. So I chose a fairly simple but modern looking theme. I went with colours which were fairly cool to look at, not at all garish. I chose a font which was pretty easy on the eyes, but also aesthetically pleasing. No comic type fonts anywhere. I didn’t use any clip art, since a lot of the clip art I came across was a little bit too casual for the presentation. So I just used photographs where needed, which wasn’t that difficult since thankfully there are a lot of good images in the public domain available on line.

I had a bit more trouble to decide whether to include some PowerPoint sound effects. At first I thought that it wouldn’t really work, since a lot of the presentations I’ve seen which used sound, made use of effects which were more comedic and a bit corny unfortunately. I tried to look for audio files to add a little bit more emphasis to some of the movement, without making the presentation too playful. In the end though, I gave up because I couldn’t find anything suitable.

I also had a bit of trouble with a table and chart that I included in the presentation. I couldn’t seem to change the way it looked enough to suit my needs. I checked the PowerPoint help file, as well as the Excel help file, but neither was particularly useful unfortunately. I ended up having to make do with the look of the chart. It wasn’t quite what I had in mind, but it was sufficient. I’m just glad that presentation’s over. Now it’s time to prepare for the next assignment.

The Americans are internationally renowned for not being very skilled in mastering foreign languages. For example, many of us are unable to have a conversation in a foreign language despite years of learning the language at the college and high school. It is true that the younger you are, the easier it is to learn a language but it is never too late to start. But how does one learn a language?

1) Traditional teaching

The first way to learn a foreign language is to attend courses facilitated by a teacher. If you want to learn faster, you can also take appropriate courses in a formal language learning institute, a solution which is much more expensive but is likely to be a lot more effective.

2) Personal Learning

Another method is to study the language in question alone, with the help of language learning books or CDs. If you choose this option, it is preferable to get something that has an audio version, such as the popular language learning CD Rosetta Stone. This type of learning requires a high level of commitment and motivation on the learners’ part.

3) The best solutionThe solution that is undoubtedly the most successful to master a language in a relatively short period of time is to go immerse yourself in a country where it is spoken. Not only will you learn extremely fast, but you will have the opportunity to use this language in everyday life and will be forced to learn the basics to run your life in a foreign country.

Whatever method you use, the most important thing is to stay committed and motivated in your language learning goals!
